AWBS was founded thirty years ago to offer encouragement and practical support to North American women and their families living in the Berkshire and Surrey areas, many of whom are in England for only a few years. This is done by means of social and educational opportunities and by giving back to charities in the area through fund raising and direct support activities. Individuals demonstrating close ties with North America can become members, and FIWAL members are invited to all of the General Meetings (September through June) at no cost and for special events or trips, at the same cost as members and according to availability.

is to give Dutch and Dutch speaking women living in Surrey and bordering areas

coffee mornings per year and a bi-monthly newsletter, they have an active
bridge group, book club and needlework group and arrange regular country walks,
garden visits, cultural lectures, museum visits, theatre and cinema outings.
Cookery and craft workshops culminating in a small fair are organized annually
usually around Easter with the purpose of raising funds for a local charity.

Formed in 1930, the Associations' membership consists of women born in New
Zealand ,married to a New Zealander, or women with close business or other
ties. The Association has 20 Committee Members, headed by a President, a
Secretary and a Treasurer. We organize monthly meetings at New Zealand House
with speakers who are usually successful New Zealanders living in the UK.
Although we are not a fund-raising Association, if a raffle is organized, the
proceeds are given to a New Zealand- related charity. Our Association is one of

This support group is the UK fund-raising arm of the international charity, SOS Children's Villages. The charity was founded 25 years ago and now operates seven villages for orphans in Pakistan.
